Brookside Bonsai Society
- Location: DC and Suburban MD
- Meetings: 2nd Thursday of the month
The Brookside Bonsai Society is a PBA club conveniently located to residents of suburban Maryland and Washington, D.C. The club meets every second week of the month on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm until about 9:00 or 9:30 pm (confirmed times and locations available in the club newsletter). Other activities are planned for BBS members throughout the year. Please refer to the BBS Newsletter for more information.
Our membership is a diverse group. Some have practiced the art of bonsai for years while others are novices. Together they share a common desire to expand their knowledge and skill in bonsai. The club offers many opportunities to do so. Our meetings are informal with opportunities for question and answer. Many meetings are themed around specific topics whereby members can perform related work on material from their collections. Meeting topics are often presented by a guest speaker. Subject matter varies and includes such topics as how to create the best soil mix for bonsai trees, how to select the appropriate pot, maintenance of bonsai tools, pruning bonsai etc. Other highlights throughout the year include visits to club member collections, tree auctions, collecting trips, and workshops. Feel free to come and check out one of our meetings if you are interested. If you decide to join, you will receive a monthly newsletter which will be emailed to you.
